INCA International Review of Curriculum and Assessment Frameworks Internet Archive

INCA provides descriptions of government policy on education in Australia, Canada, England, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the USA and Wales. It focuses on curriculum, assessment and initial teacher training frameworks for pre-school, primary, lower secondary and upper secondary education in schools (3-19 age range). 

 

The INCA website is supported by the Department for Education (DfE) in England. Content is managed by the National Foundation for Educational Research (NFER).

January 2012 Revised Comparative Tables

The most recent update of the INCA Comparative Tables, which provide a readily comparable overview of the detailed descriptions of national education policy in the country archives, contains two revised tables.  The tables covering the curriculum have been reviewed and now reflect the structure and organisation of the curriculum in England and map subjects taught to the National Curriculum.

December 2011 Review of the National Curriculum in England: Report on subject breadth in international jurisdictions

To support the review of the National Curriculum in England, the NFER was commissioned by the Department for Education in the spring of 2011 to produce a report detailing curricular arrangements in a number of high-performing educational jurisdictions.  The principal source of information for this report was the INCA Archive.
