Thematic probe. Primary Education: an International Perspective
In December 2002 a thematic probe on primary education was completed. This probe, based on data from the INCA Archive, resulted in the publication of individual country descriptions providing information on the organisation and control of primary education, on trends in primary education and on the curriculum and assessment arrangements during this phase across the 18 countries of the INCA Archive. These country descriptions are only available via this web page. Please select the country or countries of your choice to download.
The country descriptions were prepared in advance of an invitational seminar on primary education linked to the international review of curriculum and assessment frameworks (INCA) project. This seminar took place from 19-21 February 2003 in Oxford, England. Consequently, in June 2003, a thematic study on primary education was published on this website. The International Trends in Primary Education thematic study report contains many useful urls.
