Most children requiring special provision attend mainstream or special school. See 3.2.5 for further details. However, special education teachers can also teach students in their own homes in cases where they are, for example, suffering from such severe disorders in several developmental areas (sensory, motor, intellectual) that they are unable to attend school.12
Students from traveller/itinerant families often enrol on distance education courses. Some children with severe medical disorders also enrol in distance education classes.12
